On Wednesday, 24th September, the Dagenham Learning Centre came alive with energy, connection, and community spirit as LASER and npower Business Solutions (nBS) proudly supported the Barking & Dagenham Community Day.
This free-to-attend event was designed to bring residents, local businesses, charities, and support organisations together under one roof, creating a space where people could access practical advice, enjoy fun activities, and build stronger neighbourhood ties.
Days like this are really rewarding – offering direct help to people who need it and hearing first-hand how cost of living pressures impact their daily lives.
Katherine Deller, nBS
From energy efficiency tips and financial guidance to arts and crafts for children, the day offered something for everyone. With around 50–60 residents engaging with stallholders, the event proved to be a meaningful success, helping signpost attendees to vital local services and support.
Meeting communities face-to-face is a powerful way to show how, together, we can support vulnerable households. It’s a privilege to be part of this event.
Andy Barker, Charis
Many in our community are struggling with rising energy costs, so it’s great to have nBS and LASER’s support to offer practical help that makes a difference.
Faye Elliott, Barking & Dagenham Council
The presence of local councillors and the Deputy Leader underscored the importance of the day, with strong interest in repeating the event in future, a testament to its impact and value.
At LASER and nBS, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive social value. Events like this are more than just gatherings; they’re opportunities to listen, support, and uplift communities facing real challenges.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to our partners and sponsors who made the day possible. We look forward to continuing this journey of community engagement and support.
