On 8th February 2022, our Zero Carbon team hosted a webinar for local authorities to discuss best practice when creating a zero-carbon roadmap.
During the presentation we posed key questions to our audience to find out where they’re currently at on their journey to net zero.
96% of attendees have set a net zero target
…but only 23% have a formal sign-off to proceed with an action plan.
When asked ‘which activities will make the biggest impact on your carbon emissions?’, the top technology was Heat Pumps followed by switching to Electric Vehicles, Solar PV and energy efficiency such as LED lighting.
42% voted ‘Availability of Finance’ as their biggest challenge
…and yet 55% are not sure if they will bid for future PSDS grants.
The top three key next steps for organisations are targeted actions, identify funding and undertake feasibility studies.
