We’re excited to announce that, as of 1st April 2025, Eamon Grimes has taken on the role of Managing Director at LASER Energy.
With over 15 years of experience in energy & the public sector, Eamon has developed a deep understanding of the key challenges and opportunities our customers face in today’s evolving energy landscape.
“Since joining LASER, part of the Commercial Services Group, back in 2008 it’s been a rewarding journey of growth and change in an ever changing industry. The majority of my career has been spent working closely with customers to understand the challenges they face in managing their energy budgets and delivering their decarbonisation goals. I’ve had the privilege of working with – and learning from – many incredible colleagues over the years, and I’m delighted to be leading the talented team we have today as we look to the future. Our continued focus will be to understand our customers’ challenges and innovate to help our public sector customers navigate complex energy markets, decarbonise their estates, and achieve their net zero goals.”
Over the years we’ve made great strides in bringing innovative solutions to the market, delivered through compliant frameworks and supported by our in house experts. All of which are designed to help the public sector navigate the complexities of energy procurement, decarbonisation, and delivering net zero.
The challenges ahead continue to be significant, and at LASER we remain fully committed to supporting our customers through the changes shaping the future of energy.
Looking ahead, we know that:
- The Geopolitical outlook remains volatile – world events ranging from the conflict in Ukraine, Middle East and Trump’s policies over in the USA, will continue to create risk and volatility in the energy markets, impacting energy budgets for the public sector.
- Climate Declarations and Net Zero Targets are fast approaching – many public bodies have committed to net zero targets dating from 2030 onwards, the next few years will be critical in ensuring we remain on track to deliver these commitments.
- Clean Power 2030 Action Plan will change the market – the UK’s plans to transition to a clean power system that can meet 100% of electricity demand is bold, with significant policy changes ahead including Market-wide Half Hourly settlement (MHHS) and potentially zonal pricing – part of consideration for the Review of Electricity market Arrangements (REMA) – which will have seismic impacts on how we manage energy procurement in the UK market.
As these shifts unfold, our priority remains clear: to stay ahead of the changes, keep our customers informed and help them identify risks and opportunities to make the best decisions for their organisations. Continuous improvement of our services and customer experience will remain central to everything we do.
To support this mission, we’re delighted to introduce our new Senior Leadership Team. Eamon will be joined by Andy Morgan (Associate Director of Carbon & Frameworks), Sam Dowland (Associate Director of Customer Experience) and Alex Aldham-Breary (Associate Director of Sales & Marketing) who all move to new roles. In addition we are delighted to welcome Jack Chandler, who will be joining the LASER team as our Associate Director of Operations. Jack has a wealth of experience with energy data and systems, which is a key focus for LASER’s future service developments and enhancements.
Together we’ll focus on enhancing customer engagement, delivering value, and driving innovation across our services.
We look forward to continuing our journey, and we thank all our customers for your ongoing trust and partnership as we begin this exciting next chapter.
