Display Energy Certificates (DEC)
A DEC reports a buildings energy rating on a scale that runs from A to G with A being very efficient and G being the least. This rating is based on the actual amount of metered usage over the course of 12 months. In accordance with Government legislation, any building occupied by a public authority with a total floor area of over 250m2 and frequently visited by the public must have a DEC in place.
Our accredited assessor will carry out a full audit of your public building’s energy usage to provide an energy rating. A DEC is combined with a recommendation report, which includes recommendations to enhance the building’s energy performance, along with an indication of the payback period for each proposed measure.
Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)
A Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a legal document that assesses the energy efficiency rating of a commercial property on a scale of A to G. An A rating is the most energy efficient and G is the least energy efficient. EPCs are legally required when selling, leasing, or constructing a business property, providing recommendations on how to improve a building’s energy performance. A commercial EPC is valid for 10 years, after which it must be renewed if you intend to sell the property or let it to a new tenant.
Our accredited assessor will conduct an onsite assessment of your site/buildings, evaluating the energy performance and data, analysing heating and hot water systems, insulation and more. They will not only provide a precise rating, but they also identify potential areas of concern and offer guidance on improvements, using the most logistical and cost-effective measures.
