Ashtead Park is managed by Mole Valley District Council, one of LASER’s customers supplied through TotalEnergies.
On September 23rd, a team from TotalEnergies who work on the LASER portfolio from Servicing, Sales Operations and Strategic Sales took part in a volunteering day, learning about the park and supporting their restoration efforts.
Ashtead Park is managed by Mole Valley District Council, one of LASER’s customers supplied through TotalEnergies.
The 45-acre site is designated as a Local Nature Reserve, Site of Nature Conservation Interest and a Grade II Historic Park and Garden.
Upon arrival, the team was taken for a walk around the site and shown the impressive veteran trees at the Park, where they were taught about the substantial amount of work that goes into maintaining and supporting them, as well as the surrounding ecosystems for the resident wildlife.
Once the tour was complete, the team were provided health and safety training on using the saws and other equipment, then set to work clearing the scrub and smaller trees from the area surrounding the footpath.
Thank you again – you all did an amazing amount of work and it really has got us moving forward on restoring this section.
Alex Bagnall, Mole Valley District Council
A huge impact was made on providing optimum conditions for the next generation of trees to grow, whilst improving the visuals of the park. Once the team were finished, there was a clear view from the public footpath through to the lake, and the larger trees were free from competition for sunlight, allowing them to flourish and continue to provide a haven for local animals.
Mole Valley District Council were extremely grateful for the efforts, which were a huge success and enjoyed by all who took part… Although there were some achy arms and legs the following day!
