It began with a vision
Our history begins when we started in 1989. Created by Kent County Council we were tasked to help public sector organisations throughout the UK achieve their energy cost reduction goals. This was done through the newly deregulated gas and electricity markets at the time.
However, since our launch we have grown significantly, delivering a much more broader range of energy and carbon reduction services to our customers.
We're innovative, we listen and pay attention to the energy markets and our customers needs and we evolve so that we are always providing the best service we can.
One of the largest energy buying organisations in the UK.
We now purchase over £500 million of energy per annum and serve over 200 public sector customers.

LASER Energy is part of the Commercial Services Group, a company wholly owned by Kent County Council. Commercial Services Group is one of the largest trading organisations of its kind in the UK with its school supplies division KCS established over 70 years ago. As an organisation it offers a range of products and services ranging from educational school supplies, recruitment, energy, landscaping and inspection services.
