Start your energy journey

Since the launch of our LED framework we have delivered huge energy savings to our customers. Read our blog below to explore some of the projects we've worked on.

In the past 4 years, LASER customers have installed over £6 million worth of LED lighting through our dedicated LED Lighting framework. These projects are on target to save public bodies around £10 million on their electricity bills as well as reducing maintenance costs and improving light levels.

We are delighted our framework has made such an impact to the public sector reducing its energy costs and look forward to working on a lot more projects in the future.

Some examples of the good work achieved by our framework are showcased below:

The front entrance to the Hillingdon Civic Centre. Flowerbeds adorn the entrance as the walk up the steps.

24 Council offices - including major rollout programmes for London Boroughs of Enfield and Hillingdon.

“Using the LASER framework has enabled the Council to install large LED lighting projects in a number of our corporate buildings, from the initial site surveys and provision of quotes to actual installations, LASER has been very fast and efficient.”

Andrew Whelan, Carbon Reduction Manager, Enfield Council

The inside entrance to Firth Academy in Sheffield, lots of metal beams and structures and the lower half is painted in a bright green.

58 schools – including 12 at one major Academy Trust.

“Using the OJEU compliant LASER framework was a one-stop shop for the Trust. LASER assisted with our funding application providing us with technical information we needed. They carried out a thorough site survey, sourced the installation team and materials via their framework, and managed the installation from start to finish.”

19 university buildings – including student halls, education areas, outside lighting and sports halls.

“The way the installation was carried out in building 45 proved to be a success. We are already seeing a 29.5% reduction in energy and are looking forward to achieving more savings as each new installation progresses.”

76 fire stations – including around 60% of the fire stations in Wales.

Both Mid & West Wales, and South Wales Fire and Rescue utilised LASER’s framework to roll-out LED lighting across almost all of their fire stations. The projects were delivered in phases over two years and have not only saved electricity, but improved light levels and reduced maintenance costs.

How help from SALIX made projects happen

Many of the projects mentioned above have been funded through interest free funding from Salix Finance. Salix provides interest-free Government funding to the public sector to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and lower energy bills. Salix is funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Department for Education, the Welsh Government and the Scottish Government and was established in 2004 as an independent, publicly funded company, dedicated to providing the public sector with loans for energy efficiency projects. We design our projects to meet the Salix project criteria and can write funding applications on behalf of public sector customers if they wish.
