In February, one of LASER’s largest Academy Trust customers, AET, were awarded substantial grant funding through the Government’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme.
Included in that bid were LED lighting upgrades for 15 AET schools. These 15 schools are the latest in a rolling programme which AET commenced in 2017 and delivered using our LED lighting framework. While we are delighted with AET’s success, the timing threw up additional challenges of a 7-week timescale from grant offer to completion deadline, coinciding with the Coronavirus lockdown and the return of pupils to schools’ half-way through the project.
The project is progressing well and I’m exceedingly proud of both our in-house team and the contractors and suppliers who are delivering this programme through our framework. It’s also a testament to AET’s can-do attitude that they prepared in advance by ordering LED surveys with us for all their buildings well ahead of funding announcements, and trust in our framework to deliver the latest projects in such challenging timescales and circumstances.
In all around £3million worth of new lighting will have been installed, the vast majority of funding for which has come from either Government PSDS grant or SALIX self-funding loans.
Our team of in-house experts would love to speak to you about how LED Lighting can not only be a energy saving in terms of spend but how it can transform your school environment too. Please feel free to reach out to our team below.
