What is Project Nexus?

Project Nexus is the implementation of major changes in the Gas settlements IT system managed by Xoserve.  The current systems have been in use since 1997 and upgrades are necessary to meet the requirement of the changing industry and customer needs.


What impact does this have on the service I receive?

Whilst critical IT issues are handled relating to the upgrade, there will have been a period at the end of May when all suppliers were unable to carry out processes that interacted with the Xoserve systems.   This affected processes including; Pricing, Registrations and updating meter technical data, readings or any site related information on the Xoserve system.  It is expected that as of 1st June full service would be resumed. 


How will Project Nexus affect me

Customer sites will no longer be seen as Daily Metered and Non Daily Metered and instead will be put into Product classes 1-4, this will help to classify whether a site is:

  • daily metered as per traditional set up for larger supplies (product 1)
  • site that has Smart or AMR metering installed as a smaller sites so still able to get daily meter reads (Product 2 and 3)
  • site that has yet to get AMR installation of any sort (Product 4) no daily meter read available.

Introduction of rolling Annual Quantity (AQ) – readings and consumption detail;held by Xoserve;will be used to determine AQ transportation charges. This will help keep AQ up to date and is reliant on the availability of more frequent actual readings – which should come with the AMR/Smart meter installs.
